Classification of Magnetic Disturbances(1st report)

Hirayama, M.

Abstract

In order to attribute to ionospheric disturbance warning etc. the author endeavoured classifications of magnetic disturbances.1 In the first attempt, he examined the records in 1948-1949 at Kakioka and classified the disturbances into 4 groups; bay-disturbance.
impulsive disturbance, oscillation and irregular disturbance.
So far as the present investigation concerned, impulsive or irregular disturbances showed similar tendencies as the bay disturbances in the course of day.
Moreover, the author is now making further investigations, using the records at other observatories.
